Description
Italian Bread Crumbs
Ingredients
| 4 | c | Bread Crumbs |
| 1 | T | Pepper |
| 5 | T | Onion Powder |
| 5 | T | Garlic Powder |
| 1 | c | Parsley |
Instructions
I begin throughout the days and weeks reserving the ends of bread in the oven spread out on top of a pan. The type of bread used makes little difference, the choice is yours. It may take a few days to properly dry, be patient. Do not turn the oven on in hopes that it will dry faster, you will end up burning the bread.
After you feel you have enough dried bread run it in a food processor until it becomes a fine granule. Store unseasoned breadcrumbs in a lidded plastic container and place it in a cool dry place such as a pantry for later use.
(Later Use)
In a second plastic container combine all ingredients in quantities listed until well mixed. Store seasoned breadcrumbs in a cool dry place such as a pantry.
Notes
1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese added to the above mix gives your food an extra tasty kick. Only add cheese when ready to prepare food. Should you decide to add cheese right away then store breadcrumb mix in freezer until read to use.
Please note, I like purchasing my cheese in large chunks and grating it in a food processor. By doing so I know I am using a high quality product instead of processed but the choice is yours.
